Helen Conger Revels, 82, of Tifton died Friday, January 2, 2015, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2015, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown with Rev. Kevin Harris officiating. Mrs. Revels will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 3, 2015, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Mrs. Revels will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Ed Revels, Terry Revels, Steve Poppell, Jason Poppell, Tyler Revels and Brock Revels will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Revels was born on October 4, 1932 in Worth County and was the daughter of Herbert Conger and Myrtle Potts Conger, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Edwin Julius Revels, Sr., who she married on May 30, 1954 and who died in 2011; one brother, Jimmy Conger; and three sisters, Norma Howell, Jackie Drake and Emogene Simonsen. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kelltown. She loved her family dearly.
Mrs. Revels is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Ed and Tina Revels of Adel and Terry Revels of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda and Steve Poppell of Tifton; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Valerie Poppell, Jade Revels, Tyler Revels, Carrie Revels and Brock Revels; and one great-grandchild, Jaxson Poppell.
