SPRINGFIELD – Jane (Wasley) Lloyd, 94, of Springfield and a longtime resident of South Hadley, was Called Safely Home on Tuesday, December 30, 2014. She entered into Eternal Rest at Loomis Lakeside at Reeds Landing in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on December 12, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Stephen J. and Eleanor M. (Williams) Wasley. In 1939, she graduated from Meyers High School in Wilkes-Barre and then received an Associate’s Degree from Wilkes-Barre Business College. She lived in Harrisburg, PA before moving to South Hadley in 1957. She was employed for 28 years at Mount Holyoke College in South Hadley and retired at an administrative assistant in the Comptroller’s Office of the college. She was a member of the Welsh Society of Western New England in South Hadley and a member of the Albright United Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her dear sister, Eleanor Stine who was Called Home in 1945. She leaves her devoted husband and best friend, Arthur L. Lloyd. They were married on October 28, 1953 at the former Parish Street United Methodist Church in Wilkes-Barre and were blessed with over 61 years of happiness together. She also leaves her many extended family members of the Lloyd and Wasley families. Family and friends are invited to attend a Prayer Service on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Metcalfe and Shaver Funeral Home, 504 Wyoming Avenue, Wyoming, PA 18644 followed by Burial in Fern Knoll Burial Park, 100 Midland Drive, Dallas, PA 18612. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 12 Noon to 1 p.m. prior to the Prayer Service.
