Gary Lee Arms, age 80 of La Grange passed away on December 29, 2014 at his home in his sleep after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Gary was born on January 31, 1934 in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Elvin N. Arms and Ethel Smith Arms. He was a police officer in Santa Ana, California and worked as a corporate security executive for Gulf Oil and Chevron. He married Melissa Mallard on September 15, 1962 in Las Vegas. He served his country in the Marines and was a member of the NRA.
Gary is survived by his wife, Melissa; two daughters, Melissa Arms-Knight and Kirsten Arms-Arbo; two grandsons, Tanner Arbo and Grayson Arbo; two granddaughters, Anne Goodman and husband Grant and Talula Knight; one great-grandson, Jude Goodman; one brother, Charles Arms; two sisters, Dorothy Collie and husband Jim and Diane Bellew and husband Leroy; several nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leon D. Arms.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday January 10, 2015 at 2:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.
