Toby M. Worthington, 44, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Graveside services will be held 2 P.M., Friday, January 2, 2015 at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev. Steve O’Neal officiating.
Mr. Worthington was born July 4, 1970 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Joe Worthington of Fitzgerald and Carolyn Hall Worthington of Asheville, North Carolina. He lived in the community all of his life and was a 1988 graduate of Fitzgerald High School. He attended Georgia College on a golf scholarship. He graduated from the Police Academy at ABAC and worked for the Fitzgerald Police Department. Mr. Worthington was an avid golfer having played on the semi pro Jordan tour. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Fitzgerald.
He is survived by his parents: Joe & Barbara Worthington of Fitzgerald and Carolyn Hall Worthington of Asheville, North Carolina; a brother: Jay Worthington of Asheville, North Carolina; a sister: Natalie & Tom Mann of Fitzgerald; nieces and a nephew: Allison, Will and Analee Mann and his favorite aunt: Mary Jane Goodman of Ocilla.
