Obituary

It is with deep sadness and heavy heart that we let the world know that our beloved son, brother, uncle, nephew, and grandson has gone on to heaven to be with his Papa Mac. God welcomed his precious child, Lane, home on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014. He was 27 years old.

Lane was born in Ventura, CA. on April 27, 1987 to Vicki and Lane Hannigan. He attended Loma Vista Elementary, Anacapa Middle School and Beuna High School.

Lane held various jobs in his short life. He worked for a short time as Host, Waiter and Prep cook in his Grandmother's restaurant at the Vagabond Coffee Shop and loved making different concoctions in the kitchen. He also worked as desk clerk at the Vagabond Inn. He was employed at one time at Longs Drug in Ventura. And he was a great help to his Dad in his plumbing business, Hannigan Plumbing.

Lane was a fun loving guy who had many, many interests. He loved to skateboard, ride his bike, go to the beach, have family barbeque's, play with his nephew, Zack and just "kick it" with his friends. He was an avid, die-hard fan of the New England Patriots and loved to watch the games on tv with his family and friends. He enjoyed making music on his computer, going to rock concerts when he could, loved going out to restaurants and having good food, (but, did not like mustard or avocado). He was full of life and enjoyed helping others. Since he was just a big kid himself, he loved children and always had so much fun just being around them and playing with them - especially all his little nieces and nephews.

Lane had a big, generous heart and would help anyone in need with whatever he could. No job, to him, was too big or too small. He was a sensitive, caring guy who truly cared about the welfare of others. He had so many, many friends that really cared about him as well. From really well-to-do friends, to middle class, down to ones who live on the street, young or old, it did not matter to him. They were his friends and he cared for them all quietly.

He had struggled with addiction in the past, and up to the time of his death was making great strides in over-coming that addiction. He was attending drug classes, going to NA meetings, working with his Dad and trying to get jobs at several companies around town. He had made up his mind that he was really going to make it this time because he wanted a different kind of life for himself.

Our world will be a much sadder place without him in it and he will be missed forever by his family and friends that he leaves behind.

Lane is survived by his Mother, Vicki Hannigan, his Father, Lane and second mother, Wendi. He leaves behind his brothers Zachary Fields, Dylan Fields, and Nickolas Hannigan. His sister Kim Dickson and husband Garrett, Grandparents Jolene McBee, Paul and Sherry Hannigan, nephews Zack Fields, Owen & Wyatt Dickson, Neices; Lily, Emmy and Addy Dickson and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins, whom he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his loving (Papa) Mac Mcbee of Ventura, Ken Barnett of Pensylvaina, and his Nona, Gay Riva of Ventura.

Family and Friends are invited to visiting hours Friday January 2, 2015 from 2 to 7pm in the JOSEPH P. REARDON FUNERAL HOME, 757 E. Main Street Ventura. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 11am in the Funeral Home followed by interment in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
