Obituary

SANBORNTON – Clarence A. “Bum” Robinson Jr., 87, of 99 Morrison Road, passed away peacefully in his children’s home on Sunday, December 28, 2014.

He was born on March 23, 1927 in Ashland, the son of the late Clarence A. Sr. and Harriet (Commette) Robinson. He later moved to Sanbornton where he homesteaded. Clarence served over seas in the US Navy during World War II, off the coast of Algiers onboard the USS Narragansett (AT-88), a sea going tug boat. He had many jobs throughout his life, ranging from Logging and Farming, part time Forestry Service and as a Machinist for the former Scott & Williams. Clarence retired as a Supervisor from NH Ball Bearings. He enjoyed gardening, mowing lawns and his favorite things were ice cream, peanut butter, candy “mints”, the Boston Red Sox and playing cards. Bum was known as a great poker player and enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the VFW Post #1698 in Franklin and a member of the American Legion.


Survivors include one son, Joel R. Robinson of Franklin, NH; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynn Robb and her husband Ken and Debra and Jody Slack, all of Sanbornton, NH; six grandchildren, Lisa Robinson of Tilton, Joel and Michelle Robinson of Laconia, NH, Tracy and Robert Sears and Tanya Robinson, all of Sanbornton, NH and Amy and Matthew Lamanuzzi of Northfield and Jodi and Ian McElroy of Belmont; twelve great grandchildren, Michelle, Richard and Brian Scacheri, Dana and Jordan Robinson, Kayla and Kelsey Sears, Kyle Corey, Isabella and Sophia Lamanuzzi, Jordyn and Tristan McElroy, most recently a great great grandfather to Ava and Keegan, making this five generations, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis (Morrison) Robinson in 2004 and by a son, Dana Robinson, his two sisters, Thelma and Elaine, brothers Raymond and Arnold.

Calling Hours will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from 11AM to 1PM in the Carriage House of the Wilkinson-Beane Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia. A Funeral Service will immediately follow at 1PM also at the funeral home with Scott Manning, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sanbornton, officiating.

Burial will take place in the family lot in Green Grove Cemetery, Ashland, NH in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin VFW Post #1698 Ladies Auxiliary, PO Box 143, Franklin, NH 03235, to the Franklin VNA & Hospice, 75 Chestnut Street, Franklin, NH 03235 or to the charity of ones choice.
