Mildred Rita “Millie” Whiteside, 93, formerly of Burrillville, died Monday, December 29, 2014 at Westview Health Center in West Warwick. She was the widow of Frederick V. Whiteside, Jr..
Born in the Centredale section of North Providence, she was the youngest of fourteen children born to Edmund and Mary Valarie (Sicard) LaTour.
She was the mother of Frederick V. Whiteside, III and his wife Jennifer of Raleigh, NC, Robert J. Whiteside and his wife Linda of Cumberland, James E. Whiteside of Burrillville, and Mary Elizabeth Charland and her husband Richard of Chepachet and grandmother of eight and great grandmother of five.
After high school Millie’s older sisters sent her to Hairdresser School to provide her a career rather than having her go to work in the mills. Known affectionately as a loving grandmother & great-grandmother, Millie loved having all her family for Sunday dinner and especially for her New Year’s Day French “Meat Pies”.

Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in St. Eugene Church, 1247 Putnam Pike, Chepachet. Visitation Friday 3-6pm.
