Joan Marie (Angel) Anderson, nee Naylor, passed away after a long, hard battle with cancer 1:00 AM December 25 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Troy NY in 1952 Angel attended Immaculata High School in NH and later took various open campus courses at UMass Amherst. She arrived on Cape Cod in the early 1970's and found employment in the hospitality industry. She worked at several restaurants here including The Wurst House, The Yarmouth House, and most notably The Windjammer where she became a fixture, known and beloved by many customers and fellow employees.
Predeceased by her father Daniel J. Naylor, Angel is survived by her husband of 27 years Elliott Anderson, daughter Jasmine Anderson, granddaughter Sydney Rose Anderson, her mother Joan Hyde (Naylor) of Saratoga Springs NY, sisters Elizabeth Naylor of Saratoga Springs NY, Kathleen Fowler and husband Larry of Saratoga Springs NY, Patricia Runion residing in FL and Laura Newton residing in AR. Also a niece Alexis and nephews Christopher and Justin. Angel is also mourned by her former partner and father of Jasmine, Michael Mulcahy residing in TN.
Angel was known as the "go to" person to organize various parties and celebrations which she loved doing and was quite good at. She also enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening with her husband and was known for the many beautiful lilies she grew. She loved to cook and could produce some very creative and incredibly delicious meals. Angel valued her friends deeply and was always there if they needed anything. She socialized as often as possible, which is something she sorely missed as her illness progressed.
Our heartfelt thanks go to VNA Hospice for their incredible care and assistance during this difficult time and Dr. Wade and the staff at Cape Cod Hospital for their efforts to treat her terrible disease. Donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. A celebration of Angel's life will be scheduled at a later date and announced in the local paper.
