John Frederick Krohn, 76, of Whittier, California, passed away on December 28, 2014. His wife Marie Krohn, two children, Alice Krohn Belcher and Joann Krohn McQuaid, and granddaughter, Gwenneth Evelyn McQuaid, survive him.
John was born on May 9, 1938 to Frederick and Edith Krohn in Madera California.
John graduated from Whittier High School in 1957 and attended Mount Sac Community College. He also served in the U.S Army from 1961 to 1963 at Fort Dix, New Jersey.
After serving his country John became the owner of Gordon Monument in Bell Gardens, California. John was an active aviation enthusiast! He was a lifelong member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). He also loved to build and fly Radio Control Model Airplanes. He was very active in the San Gabriel Valley Radio Control League and the Quarter Scale Association of America.
His friends and family loved John for his generous spirit, caring heart, and sense of humor. He will be missed!
A service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at Rose Hills Cemetery, Sequoia Lawn (Gate 1), 3888 Workman Mill Road, Whittier, CA 90601.
