Elizabeth “Betty” Rogers Johnson, 84, of Douglas died Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Ron Johnson and Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Mrs. Johnson will be laid to rest at Omega Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Josh Johnson, Justin Johnson, Adam Gaskins, David Ramirez, Mark White and Jeff White will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Johnson was born on April 19, 1930 in Omega and was the daughter of Samuel Clayton Rogers and Bell Paul Rogers, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald C. Johnson, who died in 2009; and a grandson, Joel Johnson, who died in 2011. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church in Douglas.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Deborah Johnson of Statesboro; one sister, Loveda Reynolds of Jay, Florida; her grandchildren and their spouses, Joshua and Liz Johnson, Janna and David Ramirez, Jeanine and Sean Spoors, Jessica and Adam Gaskins, Justin Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Gavyn Hales, Malachi Hales, Elliana Hales, Caleb Spoors, Colton Spoors, Cameron Spoors, Kate Johnson, Nick Johnson, Jake Johnson and Isabela Ramirez.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made to Nevils United Methodist Church Building Fund, 8632 Nevils Groveland Road, Statesboro, GA 30458.
