Obituary

Thomas W. Olkovikas, 68, of Manchester, died peacefully December 28, 2014 at Catholic Medical Center after a brief illness.


He was born in Manchester on March 11, 1946 to John and Veronica (Caikauskas) Olkovikas.

He attended St. Anselm College, but during the Vietnam War, left to serve in the U.S. Navy.


Thomas worked for the USPS for 30 years, most recently, serving as the Postmaster, in Derry, NH. He later was a school bus driver for the Manchester Transit Authority for eight years.


He was a member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed boating, fishing, photography, and good jokes.


He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Dorothy “Dee” Olkovikas of Manchester; four children, Kenneth Olkovikas and his wife, Nicole, of Goffstown, Jonathan Olkovikas and his wife, Anne, of Sandown, Joanna Bourque and her husband, David, of Lynchburg, VA, Jeffrey Olkovikas and his wife, Tiffany, of Dover, DE; one step daughter, Nicole Kirby of Manchester; 11 grandchildren; his mother of Manchester; three brothers, Robert Olkovikas and William Olkovikas and his wife, Linda, all of Manchester and James Olkovikas and his wife, Kathy, of Auburn; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral ceremony was held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St., Manchester. After cremation, burial was at St. Joseph Cemetery in Bedford.
