Dorothy A. “Dotty” Almonte, Of Medford, age 73 passed away peacefully on December 26, 2014. Beloved daughter of the late Marco and Bessie Federico. Dorothy was born in Boston, and grew up in the North End of Boston. She graduated from Julie Billiart Central High School, Class of 1960. Dorothy met and married the love of her life in 1963. She is survived by her loving husband Nick with whom she enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Devoted mother of Anthony and his wife Maria of Burlington, Nicholas and his wife Carolyn of Bristol, RI. Adored and proud grandmother of Michael, Sara, Julia, Olivia and Ethan. Dorothy is survived by two brothers, Richard and his wife Maria of Lexington, Al and his wife Terry of Medford. Dorothy devoted herself to her family and will be dearly missed and forever remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 10 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Monday 5-8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Malden. Dorothy’s family wishes to extend a kind and heartfelt thanks to the physicians and nurses of Mass General hospital for their compassionate care over the years.
