Obituary

Joseph P. Fabiano a longtime resident of Medford formerly of Boston's North End passed away unexpectedly on December 26, 2014. He was 90 years of age. Born in Boston he was one of four children of the late Generoso and Antoinetta Fabiano. Joseph was the beloved husband of Catherine M. (Stagliano) and together they shared 62 years of marriage.

Joseph was a talented cabinet maker and carpenter. He owned and operated the Quality Cabinet Shop of Medford for more than thirty years prior to his retirement and closing of the business. Joseph was also a proud U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He honorably served with the 188th Parachute Infantry Regiment as a Staff Sergeant from 1943 to 1946. In his leisure time, Joseph enjoyed golfing, collecting antiques, spending time at his second home in Tamworth, NH, and was a member of the North Conway Country Club. He also enjoyed snowmobiling and just having a good time with family and friends.

Joseph will fondly be remembered for his strong faith, his courage, integrity and most of all his total devotion to his family.
In addition to his late parents, Joseph is predeceased by his brother; the late Nicholas Fabiano. He is survived by his beloved wife Catherine and their devoted children; Cheryl Walsh and her husband Frank, Renee Petrella and her husband Frank, Sandy Hafner and her husband Ed, and Maria Fabiano all of Medford. He was the loving grandfather of Matthew Walsh and his wife Erin, Nicole and Alyssa Walsh, Christina and Anthony Petrella, David Cuzziere, Joey and Robbie Hafner, Michael and Gregory DeBiase. Brother of Grace Tarani, Ann Tambone, both of Medford.

Funeral services will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Wednesday, December 31st, at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High St., Medford, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 thru 8 p.m. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Joseph's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
