Lee Grady, 90, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Tufts Medical Center in Boston on December 20th after a brief illness.
Lee, a lifelong resident of Natick, was born on October 31, 1924. She graduated from Natick High School in the class of 1942, where she was a cheerleader and Secretary of her class.
In 1944 she received an Associate’s Degree in Arts and Letters from Boston University. She married her high school sweetheart, John Grady, in 1946. Lee and her husband were both devoted Natick High Alumni, being active in helping plan class reunions for their respective classes.
Lee was a homemaker for many years, and also became a licensed esthetician, owning her own salon in Framingham for sixteen years. She and her family loved spending summers on Cape Cod at New Silver Beach in North Falmouth. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Lee also cherished the many friendships she had made.
Lee was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, John Grady, her son-in-law, Stuart Husband, and a grandson, Adam Husband. She is survived by her two daughters, Helen Thompson, of Boston, MA, and Linda Husband, of North Springfield, VT, her grandchildren, John Thompson and his wife Helen of Manhattan, NY, Melinda Thompson of Newton, MA, Matthew Thompson, of Charleston, SC, and Andrew Husband and his wife, Janelle, of Huntingtown, MD, her great-grandchildren, Sophia and Tula Thompson, and Grady and Keira Husband.
A private family funeral will be held in January. Donations in Lee’s memory may be made to the Natick High School Student Assistance Program, Attention Lisa Spencer, Natick high School, 15 West St. Natick, MA 01760.
