WARD, Robertson, architect, FAIA, 92, passed away on Dec. 9, 2014, at the Don Orione Home in East Boston. He was 92. He was a Harvard Graduate, Class of '45, a Harvard Grad. School of Design, Illinois Inst. of Tech. Class of '51-'52. He was an astoundingly creative, caring person who has enriched this world with his ideas and brilliant projects. His work has largely involved schools: 22 high schools in CA, Vassar, Deerfield, Bennington, and the Air Force Academy. His work had also been in Chicago, Tokyo, Paris, Genoa, Madrid, and the Caribbean. He led ground breaking material's research, as well as workplace environments and productivity research. He was a member of the Tavern Club of Boston. He served in USNR from 1944-46. His passions included Japanese culture, glass, reading, water views, travel, celebrations, and making innovative solutions. He was your go-to idea man. He leaves a daughter Robin Miller of GA, a granddaughter Ava Miller, a sister Sylvia Sawyer of MD, nephews Curtis and Scott Sawyer of MD, niece Sally Newell of VT, and his late sister Sheila Ward. He was the son of the late John R. and Sylvia (Whiting) Ward. Per his request, there will be no funeral service. His ashes will be placed near his sister's in Vermont as he desired.
