Obituary

Alfred J. Landry, Jr. 87, of Manchester died on December 26, 2014 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in West Quincy, MA on May 7, 1927, the son of Alfred and Alice (Lavoie) Landry, Sr. Alfred was educated in Quincy, MA and earned his Associates degree in accounting from New Hampshire College. He served in the Coast Guard during WWII.
He started working at Sacred Heart Hospital in 1957. Prior to retirement in 1989, he had been employed as a chef with CMC for over 32 years. He was a member of DAV and the American Legion.
Alfred enjoyed cooking, country music, yard sales & flea markets. Driving was by far his favorite thing to do, along with vacationing. Those who knew him will remember him as a very fair and religious man who was “excitable” & passionate about his beliefs. He raised a great family who will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He was predeceased by his first wife of 52 years, Marguerite (Lagueux) Landry in 2000; both parents; and two sisters, Clarice Landry and Alice Ross.
Family members include his wife of 10 years, Roberta (Wenzel) Landry of Manchester, eight children, Alan Landry and wife Gail of Batesburg, SC, Kenneth Landry and wife Candi of Smithfield, ME, Susan Guidotti (Landry) and husband Mark of Saratoga, CA, Richard Landry of Manchester, NH, Mark Landry and wife Lisa of Kewaskum, WI, Steven Landry and wife Diane of Candia, NH, Paul Landry, and wife Vicki of Apex, NC, and Brian Landry and wife Michele of Manchester, NH; 14 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Blessed Sacrament Church. Committal prayers with military honors followed in the chapel of St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald St., Bedford. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Breathe NH, 145 Hollis St., Unit C, Manchester, NH 03101.
