Maria J. DaSilva, 92 of Somerville, died Wednesday after a long illness in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, Medford.
Born in Portugal, she lived in Somerville for many years and formerly of Cambridge. She was the daughter of the late Andre J. and Maria (Soledade) DaSilva. Maria was a Housekeeper at Youville Hospital for 18 years and retired in 1984. She was an avid gardener and was known for growing her fruits and vegetables.
Beloved wife of the late Manuel DaSilva. Devoted mother of Nemesio “ Andrew” DaSilva and his wife Maria F. of Middleton, Felisberto DaSilva and his wife Lobelia of Canada. Loving grandmother of Candace, Andrew, Lisette and the late Joshua. Sister of Albertina Samagaio of New Bedford and Arnaldo DaSilva of New Hampshire.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Monday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Anthony Church, 400 Cardinal Medeiros Ave., Cambridge, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Sunday 4-8 PM.
Services will conclude with burial at Charles Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Reading.
