Obituary

GLOUCESTER – Albert Lorne β€œAl” Hill, 66, died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at the Golden Living Center, surrounded by his family, following a courageous battle with liver cancer.
Born in Gloucester on July 30, 1948, he was the son of the late Raymond G. and Erma L. (Wise) Hill.
An avid outdoorsman, he loved spending, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a self made man who loved to learn new things. Al attended the Peterson School of Engineering, graduated as a steam engineer and was employed by Addison Gilbert Hospital, Salem Power Plant and most recently Tewksbury State Hospital.
Albert was a wonderful father who dedicated his life to his children. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. The family would like to thank those at Golden Living Center who helped care for Albert during his time there.
Al is survived by his son, Matthew Hill; daughter, Shannon Hill, both of Gloucester; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Anne Hill of Peabody; nephews, Joel King, Preston and Brett Hill of Peabody, and Philip and Bryan Joseph of Gloucester; a niece, Samantha Hill of Peabody; best friend, Richard Lundy of Gloucester and his ex-wife, Linda Hill of Gloucester.
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the family c/o Matthew Hill, 4 Commonwealth Avenue, Gloucester, MA 01930.
