Joao Alves. Age 76. Husband of the late Teresa (Ribeiro) Alves. Residence 213 Weetamoe St., Fall River, Ma. Died Friday at home. Born in Cape Verde, Islands. Son of the late Antonio Alves and the late Zumira Alves. He was a Fall River resident since Nov.2004, previously, he resided in Cape Verde. Before retiring, he was a Surveyor in the construction industry. He was a member of the Portuguese 7th Day Adventist Church.
He is survived by Eight Sons: Agosto Alves of Cape Verde, Jose Antonio Alves of Cape Verde, Aguinaldo Alves of Cape Verde, Mario Alves of Cape Verde, Jose Miguel Alves of Portugal, Manuel Antonio Alves of Cape Verde, Joaquin Alves of Cape Verde, Daniel Alves of Cape Verde. One Daughter:Landa Rodrigues of Fall River, Ma. One Sister: Maria dos Reis Alves of Boston, Ma. Seventeen Grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. He was also brother of the late Pedro Alves and Editi Alves.
UPDATE:His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. on WEDNESDAY at 9:00 AM followed by a funeral service in the Portuguese 7th Day Adventist Church, No. Main St., Fall River, Ma. at 11:00 AM. Internment in Oak Grove Cemetery, Fall River, Ma. There is no separate wake.
