Joseph E. Lavenskie, 93

Joseph E. Lavenskie, age 93, most recently of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield for over 30 years, passed peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, December 22, 2014.
He was the beloved husband of the late Magella O. (Roy) Lavenskie who died on August 21, 2012. Mr. and Mrs. Lavenskie were wed on December 1, 1945.
Born in Jaffrey, New Hampshire on July 20, 1921, he was a son of the late Adam and Yvonne (Sorel) Lavenskie. He grew up and was educated in Winchendon, MA
He faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII and was honorably discharged from the service with the rank of Private First Class.
Prior to retiring, Mr. Lavenskie had worked as a carpenter in the building industry for several area home building firms.
Joe was a caring and loving husband, father and grandfather who loved being in the presence of his adoring family.
He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a supporter of events held at the American Legion in Uxbridge.
He was the devoted father of Carol M. Murphy of Ashland, Rose M. Stanley and her husband David, Sr. of North Attleboro and the late Joanne Goodwin. He was the cherished grandfather of Leeanne Stanley, Valerie Stanley, David Stanley, Jr., Joseph Stanley, Cindi Goodwin and Carol Ann Goodwin, and is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Services with military honors will be held privately at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
