Obituary

Mary “Eugenia” Lee Lott, 87, of Tifton died Sunday, December 21, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, at Tifton’s First United Methodist Church with Rev. Larry Layfield and Rev. Benjy Varnell officiating. Mrs. Lott will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 23, 2014, from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at Tifton’s First United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Lott’s nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of Southern Care Assisted Living in Tifton.

Mrs. Lott was born on March 21, 1927 in Berrien County and was the daughter of Clifford James Lee, Sr. and Rosalie Fletcher Lee, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Henry Lott; two sons, Danny Lott and Andy Lott; a granddaughter, Stacey Lott; a great-granddaughter, Jacquie Lott Cardwell; and two sisters, Joyce L. Little and Vickie L. Greer.

Mrs. Lott received her Master’s degree in Education from Florida State University and had an extensive career in education. She helped start the Peachtree Migrant Program, which she worked in until her retirement in 1994. She was an active member of Tifton’s First United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Circle. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was well-known and respected in the Tifton community.

Mrs. Lott is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Reggie Charles Lott Sr. and wife, Lynn, Neal Jerome Lott and wife Gail, and Rockwell Brandon Lott and wife Judy Dale, all of Tifton; two brothers, Clifford James Lee, Jr. and Jack Franklin Lee, both of Enigma; one sister, Bettye Anne Walker of Tifton; eight grandchildren, Tina Cardwell of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Geni Cook, Regg Lott, Jess Lott, Rhonda Lott, Brandon Lott, Deke Lott and Rosha Layfield, all of Tifton; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
