SWANSEA – Rose Furtado, 86, passed away Dec. 17, 2014. Born in Ponta Garça, São Miguel, Açores, she was the wife of the late Antone Furtado and the daughter of the late Antone & Irondina (de Medeiros) Furtado. Prior to retiring, Rose worked for Star Pickling Co., Swansea. She was a parishioner of St. Dominic’s Church & a member of its Holy Ghost Society.
She is survived by her nieces Lucy Furtado, Rose Furtado, Melody Sousa, Sonia Furtado, Jennifer DaSilva, Melissa Furtado, Samantha Furtado, Ines Furtado and nephews John Furtado, Joe Furtado, Armando Furtado and Gualter Furtado, as well as several nieces and nephews in Portugal. She is predeceased Seraphim Furtado, Tomé Furtado, Vincente Furtado, Lauriano Furtado, Conceição Furtado-Oliveira and Maria Calouro.
Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral mass for Rose on SATURDAY at 9:30 A.M. in St. Dominic’s Church, Swansea. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, Swansea. Calling hours FRIDAY 4-7 P.M.
