TAUNTON – Jeanette “Jean” (Mador) Arikian of Taunton, wife of the late Richard “Dick” Arikian, died at New England Sinai Hospital in Stoughton on Dec. 14, 2014.
She was 84.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Wilfred A. and Theresa (Coute) Mador.
A lifelong resident of Taunton, she graduated from Taunton High School in 1948 and later received an associate’s degree in accounting from Fisher Jr. College.
Mrs. Arikian was formerly employed as a teacher’s aide at the Hopewell School and had also worked at the Trucchi’s Market former lunch counter.
A hospice volunteer, Jean enjoyed reading and spending time with her family.
She was a communicant of St. Andrew the Apostle Church and a member of the former St. Joseph Church Women’s Guild.
Survivors include four sons, Richard M. Arikian and his wife Jody of Nashua, NH, Mark S. Arikian and his wife Denise, and Paul M. Arikian, all of Taunton, David P. Arikian and his wife Trina of Newburg, Missouri; a daughter, Mary Arikian Chaplin and her husband Michael of Mattapoisett; a sister-in-law, Eileen Jursik of Rochester, Minnesota; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Gary R. Arikian and the sister of the late Wilfred A. “Sonny” Mador.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Saturday, Dec. 20th at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Burial will be held at a later date at the Mass National VA Cemetery in Bourne.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Friday, Dec. 19th from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
