Roland A. Gallo 86 of Natick died Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Metro West Medical Center in Natick after a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary G. (Apruzzese) Gallo who died in 2005.
A Natick resident for over 50 years he was born in South Philadelphia the last surviving of ten children born to the late Ciriaco and Rachela (Gentile) Gallo.
Mr. Gallo was the owner of Towne Auto Parts in Natick for 50 years until his retirement in August of this year. He was an active member and Past President of the Natick Kiwanis Club.
Roland cherished his family, especially his grandsons, and enjoyed the many cross country trips and trips to Florida which many times were combined with large family reunions.
He is survived by three children Maria Vafiades and her husband Jay of Norwell, Rachel Funnell and her husband Brian of Natick, Robert Gallo of Taunton, four grandchildren James Vafiades of Madison WI, Tom Vafiades of Norwell, Chris and Steve Funnell of Natick and many nieces and nephews.
He was also the dear friend of Phyllis Tyrell of Canton.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home, 4 Park Street at Natick Common followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patrick’s Church at 10:00 A.M.
Visiting hours are Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M.
Interment St. Patrick Cemetery.
