Wallace Forsyth, age 83, died Monday, December 15, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. He was born February 19, 1931 in Pine Valley, MS to the late J.W., Sr. and Christine Camp Forsyth. Wallace was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Water Valley where he served as Deacon and as Sunday School Superintendent. He was an avid Ole Miss football fan and was an usher at the games for years. Wallace was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing, looking for treasures with his metal detector and spending time with his sons.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, December 18, 2014 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Bro. Bill Forsyth officiating. Richard Baird, Curtis Berry, Rochester Buford, Arnold Wayne Carothers, Danny Wayne Edwards and Bob Brooks will serve as pallbearers.
Wallace is survived by his wife of sixty years, Dot Hardy Forsyth of Water Valley, MS; two sons, John Forsyth of Water Valley, MS and Paul (Jan) Forsyth of Harriman, TN; his sister, Mary Forsyth Shepard of Horn Lake, MS; three grandchildren, Griff Forsyth, Paul Snider and Steven Snider.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katie Forsyth Thompson.
