John H. Huey, Sr., died Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home in Cranston. He was the husband of the late Edith (Seres) Huey and Ines (Poggi) Huey.
Born in Kansas City, MO, in 1917 he was the son of the late Issac O. Huey and Pearl (Bennett) Huey. He lived in Rhode Island for the last 13 years and had previously lived in Kensington and Gaithersburg, MD for 45 years.
He was a 20 year veteran of the United States Navy. He served during WWII and was a Pearl Harbor survivor along with two of his brothers. The remainder of his career was spent with the Department of the Navy/ Naval Seas Systems Command.
He is survived by his sons: John H. Huey, Jr. and his wife, Gulbatira of Bethesda, MD and Douglas M. Huey and his wife, Betsy of Danielson, CT, and his granddaughters : Jessica, Lillian and Julia Huey.
Private funeral services will be held in Connecticut.
