WAYLAND: Alice Mary (Carney) O’Shea journeyed to her eternal home on December 11, 2014 surrounded by all those who loved her and there were many.
She was born in Arlington on November 11,1924, the daughter of the late James Carney and May A (Fitzgerald) Carney.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 55 years, Joseph P. O’Shea and their four children; Margaret Lien and her husband Jon; Timothy O’Shea and his wife Elizabeth; Thomas O’Shea and his wife Amy and Maureen Heavey and her husband Michael. She also leaves behind the joy of her life 17 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of Charles Carney and his wife Gerry. Alice was also the sister of the late Paul Carney; James Carney; Jack Carney; Leo Carney and Richard Carney.
Alice lived in Arlington until her marriage to Joseph in 1959. She has resided in Wayland for the last fifty years and has been a longtime communicant of Saint Ann’s Church.
All of us will cherish the years we had with Alice, a heart so generous to all, no bitterness, no malice, a calm and peaceful nature always encouraging family and friends to sit down and relax. A devoted catholic her entire life Alice’s faith was apparent in her quiet witness of kindness to all.
Visitations will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (OFF ROUTE 30) Wayland.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitations at 11:00AM at the Good Shepherd Parish at Saint Ann’s Church, 124 Cochituate Road (ROUTE 27) Wayland.
Internment will follow in the O’Shea family lot in North Cemetery in Wayland.
