Isabel Lee Lockwood, 87, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Thursday, December 11, 2014, at Palemon-Gaskins Nursing Home in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2014, at Westside Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with Brother Charlie Solomon officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7, Saturday evening, at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Lockwood was born August 25, 1927, in Fort Ogden, Florida, to the late Raymond and Pauline Downing Russell. She was a former resident of Belle Glade, Florida, and moved to the community in 2000. Mrs. Lockwood was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family and grandchildren. In earlier years, she worked for Flowers Bakery and the school lunch program. Since moving to the community, Mrs. Lockwood was a loyal member of Westside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years: Henry Calvin “Cal” Lockwood of Fitzgerald; daughter: Geraldine L. & Ray Tyler of Fitzgerald; son-in-law: Griffin Bell of Ocilla; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter and a daughter: Marietta Redd Bell.
