Obituary

Alton----Nancy Lee Rines, 77, of Alton, N.H. died December 8, 2014 at the St. Francis Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Laconia, N.H. surrounded by her loving family, after suffering and becoming disabled from Parkinson’s Disease.

Nancy was born at Huggins Hospital in Wolfeboro, N.H. She was a graduate of Alton High School, Class of 1956, and was chosen Carnival Queen her Senior year. Upon graduation, she married her classmate, Tenney Carpenter Rines. She and Tenney were always seen traveling around Alton in his Model A Roadster. Tenney joined the U.S. Navy and they moved to Orange, Texas. Upon his discharge, they moved back to Alton where they raised their family. She had been employed over the years for the N.H. Electric Cooperative in Meredith, Irving Oil Co. in Alton, The Alton Village Store, Dunkin Donuts and for several years as an accountant in Concord for the State of New Hampshire.

Nancy was predeceased by her husband, Tenney; her parents, Hartley and Louise Shields; grandparents, Fred and EttaBelle Gilman of Alton and Robert and Mary Witherell of Sabattus, Maine and in-laws, Charles and Elsie Rines of Alton.
Nancy is survived by their three children, Ricky Rines and his wife, Diane, of Alton, Kevin Rines and his wife, Vicki, of Center Harbor and daughter, Sheri York and her husband, Matt, of Wolfeboro. She was the proud grandmother of Eric Rines and his wife, Tracy, and Shelley Rines of Manchester, Adam Rines of Center Harbor, Sara Rines of Gilford, Justin Maciejewski of Barboursville, VA, Coty Maciejewski of Wolfeboro, Kristi Maciejewski of Alton and Mia York and her brother, Matthew “MJ”, of Wolfeboro; great grandchildren, Hayley Dickerson of Pamplin, VA, Zoë Maciejewski of Barboursville, VA and Sophie Belle Rines of Manchester. She also leaves her sister, Patricia Pellowe and her husband, James, of Alton and her loyal and longtime friend, Paul Bowden, of Farmington as well as many nieces an d nephews.
There will be a Graveside Service in the Spring at the discretion of the family.
