MARGARET M. "PEG" (COLEMAN) FALCONER, age 84, of Waterville, Maine, formerly of Belgrade Lakes, Maine and Hingham, MA, died on Dec. 14th at her home in Waterville after a brief illness. Mrs. Falconer was born and raised in Hingham where she graduated from Hingham High School. She also attended Thayer Academy in Braintree, MA, received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education at Boston University and her Masters Degree in Education and Guidance at Boston College. She was a physical education teacher at various times at Howard Seminary in West Bridgewater, MA Trinity College in Washington, DC, Dana Hall in Wellesley, MA, Mount St. Joseph Academy in Brighton, MA, Duxbury, MA Public Schools and Hingham Public Schools. For 23 years she was a guidance counselor for the Milton, MA Public Schools. For many years, she was a lifeguard and counselor at Sargent Camp in Peterborough, NH, the Hingham Public Beach, the Hingham Playground, the Meadowcroft Day Camp in Hingham and the Thayer Academy Day Camp in Braintree.
Mrs. Falconer lived in Hingham for most of her life before moving to Belgrade Lakes, Maine in the late 1980's. She recently relocated to Waterville, Maine.
She was the wife of the late Robert J. Falconer and sister of Charles T. Coleman of Hingham, the late Francis H. Coleman, Jr. and the late Constance Courtney. Step-mother of David Falconer of Plymouth. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Dec. 18th at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Resurrection, 1057 Main St. (Rt. 228), Hingham.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Friday evening from 5-8 PM.
