Obituary

Biddeford, ME.– Jeanne J. Riel, 97, passed away after a brief illness on December 9th, 2014 at St. Andre’s Health Care Facility in Biddeford, ME.
She was a born in Manchester on July 2, 1917 to Omer and Victoria (Melancon) Labrie.
She was a lifelong resident of Manchester with the exception of 4 years lovingly spent with her son, Marcel and his wife, Gloria in Deerfield, and 2 years with her daughter, Irene Cyr in Kennebunkport, ME.
Jeanne was a quiet and loveable mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many.
She lived her life with a strong commitment and great love for the Catholic faith and for her family. She was happy and content with very little and always had a soft touch and smile for everyone. She was brought up in a family of 10 children and often talked about the happy days spent with her 8 brothers and her sister.
She was happily married to Henry Riel for 46 years. He predeceased her in 1985.
She leaves 2 children, Irene Cyr of Kennebunkport, ME., and Herve Riel of Merrimack. Her son, Marcel predeceased her 3 years ago. She also leaves 9 grandchildren, Debra McBride and husband Frank, Karen Cyr and husband Mark Condon, Christopher Cyr and his wife Kim, Steven and James Riel, Michele Bell and husband Harold, Valerie Belanger, Sheila Moers and husband David and Shane Riel. Her grandson Rick Cyr predeceased her in 1981. She leaves 17 great grandchildren, Samuel and Liam Harris, Parker and Peyton McBride, Boden and Brie Cyr, Megan and Rebecca Bell, Christopher and Zachary Riel, Derek and Deven Belanger, Jesse and Dakota Riel, and Nathan, Adam, and Hannah Moers. She also leaves her brother Aime Labrie and his wife, Doris and a sister in law Laurette Labrie.
She will be deeply missed by all of us.
Calling hours will be on Friday from 4 to 7 PM at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 AM in Sacred Heart Church, Main St.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to St. Andre’s Health Care staff and Life Source Hospice Care for their mothers excellent care and the attention given to their family.
