MAGNOLIA – Lauren M. Asaro, 49, died unexpectedly on Sunday, December 7, 2014.
Born in Gloucester on July 18, 1965, she was the sixth child of Daniel S. Asaro and the late Cynthia L. (Golart) Asaro. She was a lifelong resident of Gloucester and a member of the Gloucester High School class of 1983.
For many years Lauren worked in food service at The Boulevard Oceanview, Dragon Light and the Magnolia House of Pizza. Most recently she was employed as a home health aide, first privately, and then for TLC.
She was an avid photographer and had a great talent for capturing light, color and composition. She enjoyed sharing her work with family and friends.
Lauren was known for her generosity and compassion and her home was always open to all.
Since moving to Magnolia, Lauren was dedicated to the history, restoration and community of Magnolia and served as the secretary of the Magnolia Historical Society.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her son, Joseph J. Asaro, companion of Kayla Brancaleone; her daughter Victoria Flannagan; her granddaughter, Kendall, siblings, Kathryn, Julianne McCarthy, Dianne of Boise, David (wife, Brenda), Daniel (wife, Sherrie) of Manchester, NH, Dana (wife, Laurie) of Boise, ID, nieces and nephews, Kristy Asaro, Lynn (Asaro) Surucu, Michael, Kenneth, Andrew and Aaron, and Kamden, who always called her “Nonni” as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 13th, in the Cape Ann Bible Church, 8 Thompson Street, West Gloucester at 10:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Friday evening in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle Street, Gloucester from 3 – 7 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend.
