Obituary

Gerard L. April, 86, of Manchester died December 14, 2004 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Manchester after a period of declining health.

Born in Kamouraska, Quebec on April 1, 1918, he was the son of Ernest and Emma (Landry) April. He grew up in Nashua and lived most of his life in Manchester.

During World War II he served in the US Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 79 in Manchester.

Mr. April worked at Waumbec Mills in Manchester for 32 years and retired as a supervisor.

He was married to Germaine (Dumont) April who died in 1996.

The family includes two sons, Lionel P. April of Lady Lake, FL and Normand C. April of Manchester; a sister, Mathilda Labbe of Manchester; a brother, Roger April of Manchester; cousins, nieces and nephews.

IN HIS LIFE: The family also includes three grandchildren, David, Denise and Judy and three great grandchildren, Megan, Lauren and Leah. He was predeceased by a great grandson, Joshua.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Saturday December 18, 2004 in St.Anne-St.Augustin Church, corner of Beech and Spruce streets, Manchester. Committal prayers followed in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, 474 Goffstown Rd., Manchester. Burial was in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
