Felix Maurice "Moe" Tetreault, 88, of New Bedford died Monday December 8, 2014 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Marie E. "Muzzy" (Casavant) Tetreault.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Felix and Eva (Hebert) Tetreault, he lived in New Bedford all of his life. He was a graduate of Assumption Preparatory School and attended Assumption College.
He was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish.
Mr. Tetreault was formerly employed as a grocery store manager for A&P Supermarkets in New Bedford, Fall River and Newport. He also worked part-time at Baylies Square Pharmacy for many years.
During World War II, he served in the U.S. Navy in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater.
He served on the Board of Directors for Southcoast Health System Credit Union and was a volunteer at the St. Luke's Hospital Surgicenter for many years.
Survivors include four sons, Robert Tetreault and his wife Cathy of Saugerties, NY, Marc Tetreault and his wife Carrie of East Providence, RI, Denis Tetreault and his wife Ann of New Bedford, and Brian Tetreault of Ellington, CT; four daughters, Capt. Suzanne Tetreault, U.S. Army Ret. of Exeter, NH, Donna Martin and her husband John of Dartmouth, Doreen Tetreault of Dartmouth, and Linda Tetreault of Ft. Myers, FL; his brother-in-law, Roland Casavant of New Bedford; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church at 11:30 AM.
