Valmore Leo Travers, Jr., 85, of N. Fort Myers, FL formerly of Worcester died Tuesday, December 2nd in Hope Healthcare Service and Hospice House in Cape Coral, FL. He leaves his wife of 18 years, Evelyn (Petrisin) Travers; his children, Richard Travers and his wife, Sue of Sutton, Robert Travers of Worcester, Patricia Gage and her husband, James of Conway, SC; his step-children, Donna Alufohai of FL, Stephen J. Repka II and Laura Repka both of CT; his grandchildren, Aimee, Mathue, Andrew Travers and Angela Egan; great grandchild, Ronald James Travers; his step-grandchildren, Robert Repka Oakley, Addison Alufohai, Emma, Lane and Tori Repka. He is predeceased by his first wife, Jean (Lindquist) Travers.
He was born in Worcester the son of Valmore L. Travers, Sr and Mary (Labelle) Travers and graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade School. Valmore was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a plumber for 35 years and was a member of the Worcester Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union Local 4. Mr. Travers was a life member of the VFW Post Worcester, a member of Worcester Elks Lodge 243, a member for 25 years of Moose in Cape Coral, FL and a life time member of St. Christopher’s Church.
Mr. Traver’s funeral is Saturday, December 13th with a service at 10:00 AM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester, MA. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, 162 Webster Street, Worcester. Calling hours are Friday, December 12th from 4:00 until 7:00 PM in the funeral home.
