Obituary

Arthur J. Andreoli, 78, of Worcester, died peacefully Monday, December 8th at home, surrounded by his loving family. His wife of 52 years, Anne Marie (Fitzgibbons) Andreoli died in 2010. He is survived by his five children and eighteen grandchildren; John and Karen Andreoli of Shrewsbury and their children John and Kathryn; Susan and William Feraco of Worcester and their children, Bobby, Annie, Michael and Patrick Spellane and Will, James and Luccia Feraco; Beth and Mark Smiley of Shrewsbury and their children, Andrew, Allison, Grace and Kate; James and Leslie Andreoli of Paxton and their children, Jimmy, Caroline and Mary; Arthur J. “AJ” and Christina Andreoli of Holden and their children, Elise and Paige. Art also leaves his aunt, Theresa Andreoli and her family of Stafford Springs, CT.
He was born in Stafford Springs, the son of John and Agnes (Francini) Andreoli. Mr. Andreoli was a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross; and had been employed by the Guardian Life Insurance Company for 54 years, and had still been active with the company as a senior sales consultant. Art was a member of the Holy Cross Varsity Club Hall of Fame, the New England Basketball Hall of Fame, the Holy Cross Presidents Council, named by the Catholic Digest, as an All American in basketball, past–president of the Holy Cross Alumni Association, a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Round Table, a member of the First Friday Club, he was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Guardian Life Insurance Company, a recipient of the In Hoc Signo Award from Holy Cross. He was also a member of Christ the King Parish, the Worcester Country Club and the Emerald Club; and was named as honorary captain of the St. John’s High School Football team. Art had served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve, attaining the rank of Captain. Although Art was blessed with many achievements, his greatest love and joy was his children and grandchildren. He never missed a game!
The Andreoli family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Art’s caregivers, Lily, George “Gary”, John, Antonette and Brittany for their compassion and outstanding care provided to our Dad.
His funeral is Thursday, December 11th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Wednesday, December 10th from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
