Pauline R. Hamer, 88, formerly of Derry, NH, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Langdon Place of Dover, Dover, NH. She was born in Londonderry, NH on September 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Vincent and Ruth (Shackett) Cassidy. A resident of Dover since May of 2014, she formerly lived in Derry, NH for 60 years. Mrs. Hamer was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, Class of 1945 and worked for a time at Merrimack Farmers. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Larry Hamer and his wife Nancy of New Durham, NH, her daughter, Lynne Byram and her husband Kevin of Somersworth, NH, three grandchildren, Jason Byram, Lance Byram and Melissa Adams, three great-grandchildren, Ethan, Maura and Nolan Byram, her brother, Robert Cassidy and his wife Betty of Pekin, IL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth W. Hamer in 2009 and by her siblings, Jacqueline Robie, Vincent Cassidy and Michael Cassidy.
Calling hours were held Thursday, December 11, 2014 from 12:30 to 1:30pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 1:30pm in the funeral home. Burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry. Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
