Robert E. “Bob” Tremblay passed away on Saturday, December 6th from complications of cardio-pulmonary disease. As he wished, he passed away at his home surrounded by his loving children, family and friends. Bob was born in Lawrence on January 4, 1935 to the late Herman and Nora (O’Leary) Tremblay. He grew up and was educated in Lawrence and graduated from Lawrence High School, Class of 1953. He was a Private First Class in the United States Army and honorably discharged in 1956. Bob was a proud member of the Massachusetts State Police, retiring with the rank of Sergeant in 1997. He was a well-respected member of the force and made many lasting friendships. Everyone who knew Bob has fond memories of his stories, quick Irish wit and sense of humor! He was an avid sports fan, especially of the New England Patriots and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame. More than anything, he loved his family and enjoyed holiday gatherings.
Bob was pre-deceased by his loving wife, Claire and his brother Humphrey Tremblay. He is survived by his children, daughters Diane Beaulieu and husband Ernie, Nancy Benullo and husband Steven, Kathleen Henehan and husband John; his sons, David Rochefort and wife Charlene and Robert E. Tremblay, Jr. and wife Cindy. His beloved grand-children, Christopher Tremblay, Kyle and Ashley Rochefort, Dan Beaulieu, Nick and Jason Benullo, his cherished “little ladies” Ava and Brooke Henehan and great-grand daughter, Mia Lyn Tremblay. He is also survived by his sisters, Rose Kay and her friend Sal Canto; Joan Cote and her husband Bill, several nieces and nephews, friends and his companion Brenda Herdegen. The family would like to thank the hospice nurses from All-Care, especially Michelle and Thais, for the exceptional care and love they gave to Bob and his family.
