Margaret Lee Griffin Goff, 79, of Tifton died Friday, December 5, 2014, at her residence. Her funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 7, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Murray Hand and Rev. Glenn Ford officiating. Mrs. Goff will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery with Elder Shelton Mikell officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 7, 2014, from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Randall Waldrop, Ronald Pope, Hoyt Shaw, James Rutherford, Kirby Jones and Wayne Griffin will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Goff was born on January 30, 1935 in Cook County and was the daughter of Arthur Griggs Griffin and Lillie Mae Williams Griffin, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amber Brooke Clements; three sisters, Louise Griffin, Alma Waldrop and Florene Hood; one brother, A. G. Griffin; a sister-in-law, Carlene Gill; and a brother-in-law, Carlton “Buddy” Goff. She was a homemaker and a member of Tift Avenue Church of God.
Mrs. Goff is survived by her husband, John D. “J. D.” Goff of Tifton; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and David Clements of Tifton; a grandson, Brock Tyler Clements of Tifton; one sister, Eloise Dampier of Tifton; a sister-in-law, Virginia “Bootsy” Griffin of Lenox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Donald and Betty Jones of Tifton, Robert and Mary Nell Pope of Macon and Katherine Goff of Virginia.
