Obituary

James W. Lennox, 75, formerly of West Brookfield passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014. He leaves his wife of 51 years Janet (Harvey) Lennox, two sons, Randall S. Lennox and his wife Karen, Peter A. Lennox, a daughter, Laura Jean Lennox of Boston and two grandchildren, Susan G. and Charles R. Lennox of Ware.

James was born in Hinsdale, IL the son of the late Charles E. and Marjorie J. (Droppers) Lennox. His sister, Joanne L. Sokow predeceased him. Jim received his BS from Aurora College and an MS from Rivier College.

Jim taught in Tewksbury Public Schools for more than twenty years. He also worked for A to Z Integrated Systems in Worcester, MA.

Jim started the recycling program in Tewksbury and was awarded the Massachusetts Outstanding Citizen Award in 1980. He served on the Board of Health and Conservation Commission. He was a Past Master of Wamesit Lodge in Tewksbury and a member of Aleppo Temple. He was an active member of Boy Scout committees in both Tewksbury and West Brookfield and was an early president of MASSOG genealogists.

A memorial service celebrating Jim's life will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday at Nordgren Memorial Chapel 300 Lincoln St. Worcester, MA 01605. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rocky Mountain Biological Laboratory, P.O. Box 510, Crested Butte, CO 81224.
