Carol Mae (Maddox) Jones, 82, of Bethany, OK, formerly of Ormond Beach, FL. Carol was born in Moscow, ID on May 4, 1922 a daughter of Rev. John Stewart Maddox and Letha Mae Maddox. A retired public school music teacher and Methodist minister’s wife, Carol died at St. Anthony’s Hospital, Bethany, OK on December 11, 2004 of complications from a fall she had on December 9th. A graduate of Eastern Nazarene College and Muskingham College, Carol held a Master’s degree in Music Education. She taught school in the Derry school system and later managed the Nutfield Heights Senior Center in Derry for 13 years.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Rev. Irving S. Jones of Bethany, OK, two sons, Lawrence Jones of Chicago, IL, Stanley Jones of Beaverton, OR, one daughter, Lauri Jones Pastrone of London, England, eight grandchildren (her “grands”) and her sister, Winifred Howard of Bethany, OK.
