Obituary

Attorney Cathryn A. O'Neill, 46, of Dartmouth died Monday December 1, 2014 suddenly of natural causes at St. Luke's Hospital.

Born in Melrose, she was the daughter of David M. and Cathryn A. (Skeffington) O'Neill of Dartmouth. She was a graduate of Bishop Stang High School, Fitchburg State College, University of Rhode Island and Southern New England School of Law.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth.

Cathy was employed as a research law librarian at UMass Dartmouth Law School. She had also been a child advocate for special needs children and a court investigator for the Bristol County Juvenile Court. She was a certified Emergency Medical Technician and a Notary Public.

Survivors include her parents; three children, Ruth Skeffington, Sabrina Skeffington, and Jade O'Neill; a brother, David M. O'Neill and his wife Aimee of Dartmouth; two sisters, Deborah A. Hale and her husband Christopher of Bend, OR, and Maureen J. O'Neill of Methuen; her nieces and nephews, Brian, Emily and Matthew Hale, and Elizabeth, Allison and Erin O'Neill; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM at St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Burial will follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
