Obituary

Lisa Iwanicki, 55 of Belchertown, Massachusetts passed away on November 24, 2014 at Boston Medical center with her faithful, loving husband at her side. Lisa was born in Chicopee on Westover AFB on September 14, 1959. She graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School and Bay Path College majoring in Travel Administration. Bringing her love of travel to her professional life, she accepted a position with Peter Pan. Lisa was married to Mark Iwanicki for 35 years and they made their home in Belchertown for many years. Lisa is survived by her mother Hazel J. Levan of Chicopee; one brother Chris Magri and his wife Susan of NC and one sister Carla Plazzo and her husband Michael of Belchertown; one aunt Sheila Lavigne of Chicopee and many nieces and nephews. Lisa is predeceased by her father John L. Magri. Lisa had many special friends who will miss her deeply. She shared love of nature and life, her laughter, her feisty attitude, her wisdom and never ending sense of humor with them. Being an avid gardener her yard showed the love she put into it, loved to eat and looked forward to her trips to Martha’s Vineyard every year. Her passion was always evident where all animals were concerned and she had a special love of dachshunds. Although we are sad that she left us at only 55, we believe she is now safe and secure and we will meet again someday. A memorial gathering of family and friends will be held at Grise Funeral Home 280 Springfield St. Chicopee from 9 AM to 11 AM on December 2, 1014, with a funeral service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to The Scleroderma Foundation either on-line or sent directly to the organization by mail to: 300 Rosewood Drive, Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923 or to the Dakin Humane Society 171 Union St. Springfield, MA 01105.
