Jean Marie (Peluso) Festa, of Rockland, formerly of Whitman and East Boston, died November 26, 2014 after a period of failing health. Born April 17, 1922 in Presque Isle, Maine, she was the wife of the late Benjamin Festa and the daughter of the late Antonio Peluso and Hattie May Mossie.
She leaves her daughters Janet Russo and her husband Joseph of North Smithfield, RI; Brenda Letteri and her husband Tim of Boca Raton, FL; Donna Lovasco and her husband Stephen of Orlando, FL; and her sons Paul Festa and his wife Arlene of Fort Meyers, FL, James Festa and his wife Donna of Boca Raton, FL, and Wayne Festa and his wife Tracey of Woburn.
Jean enjoyed spending time with family at sporting events, performances, and family celebrations, and with friends making ceramics and playing Bingo. She will be greatly missed by her eleven grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Carlo, Alton, Joseph (Buster) Peluso and her sisters Katherine Palmer Lightbody, Elaine Harper, and her twin Joyce Peluso. She is now reunited with her beloved granddaughter Ashleigh Rose Lovasco.
Her funeral service will be held Friday December 5 at 10:30 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 AM.
