Obituary

Edmond Michael “Mikey” George II, 57, of Manchester, died November 28, 2014 after a sudden illness.
Born in Manchester on February 13, 1957, he was the son of Edmond M. and Joan T. (Case) George. He was educated in the local school system and graduated from Manchester Central High School in the Class of 1976.
Mikey enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorcycling. He especially loved lounging on the couch with his beloved dog, “Little Boy” Diego. He was passionate about his love for his family and close friends and had a strong loyalty to them. He will be remembered for his letter writing that would bring a smile to your face or a tear to your eye. He was also an avid storyteller, and could get you laughing even when you really felt like crying. Mikey enjoyed going to the farm stands with his Dad and brother and then making delicious meals from vegetables from the farm stand or his brother’s garden, always making enough to share with friends and family. He was famous for making jerky from venison. When disaster struck, Mikey was the first to call with loving concern or to take action, like driving to New York City after 911 to volunteer to help in whatever way would be allowed. He would give you the shirt off his back. Material things were just “things;” it was people that mattered to Mikey. He will be especially remembered for his quick wit and razor-sharp memory. Because of the kindness and compassion he had for others, Mikey never forgot a face or a name, and would go out of his way to talk to you and rekindle fond memories that would lift your spirits. There was a charm about him, and he made every person, no matter what their standing in life, feel important and special. To know Mikey was to love him, and he will be dearly missed.
