Joe Hill Wilder, Jr.
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, November 30, 2014 at Charlie Norwood Medical Center Uptown Division, Joe Hill Wilder, Jr., 78, husband of 53 years to Jacquelyn Wilder.
Mr. Wilder was a native of Dawson, GA. He retired after 21 years in the United States Army as Sergeant Major, where he served two tours in Vietnam and received the Vietnam Service Medal, W-3 Bronze Service Stars, National Defense Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and the Bronze Star. Following his retirement from the Army, he was manager for a number of years at United Refrigerated Warehouse. Mr. Wilder was a member of St. Mark United Methodist Church and the Faith Discussion Class. He also taught Sunday School for many years.
In addition to his wife, family members include son: Russell Andrew Wilder and wife Sharon; daughter: Sue Y. Wilder; granddaughter: Sarah Elizabeth Wilder; and many devoted friends.
Funeral services with Full Military Honors will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Mark United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Broome officiating and the Faith Discussion Class acting as honorary pallbearers. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 P.M. at the church.
