Phyllis Paulk Davis, 75, of Ocilla, died Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Pruitt Health in Ocilla.
Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church in Irwin County with Elder Edward McIntyre officiating. Interment will follow in the Paulk Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Davis was born September 29, 1939, in Irwin County, Georgia, to the late William Hardeman & Gertrude Griner Paulk. She graduated high school in Irwin County and was a former employee of Hybernia’s and McMillan Jewelers. She was a former office manager for American Blanching. Mrs. Davis loved to sew as well as shop and read books. She was a member of Henderson Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years: Jim Davis of Ocilla; two sons and daughters-in-law: Don & Karen Ross and Greg & Heather Ross, all of Ocilla; grandchildren: Christi & Bryan Allen of Columbus, and Jessica Ross, Evan Ross, and Tanner Ross, all of Ocilla; two great-grandchildren: Ian Allen and Kate Allen, both of Columbus; and one brother: Charles & Annelle Paulk of Ocilla. Her favorite companion, Missy, will greatly miss her as well. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson: Donnie Ross; two brothers: Wesley Paulk and Ralph Paulk; and a sister: Grace Paulk.
