Bernice E. (Leighton) Leach 91, formerly of Framingham, died Tuesday, November 25, at the home of her daughter in Blackstone. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward F. Leach. She was born in Dennysville, ME a daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Benner) Leighton. She was a graduate of Husson College in Maine and briefly taught school in Dennysville and Eastport ME, before moving to Framingham where she resided for sixty years. Bernice was employed by Roxbury Carpet for several years, and retired at the age of 65 as the manager of the Assessor’s office for the Town of Framingham.
She was a devoted mother to her two children, Stephen A. Leach and his wife Patricia of Framingham and Sally J. Walsh and her husband Kenneth of Blackstone. She was the grandmother of her cherished grandchildren, Michael E. Walsh and his fiancé Vannessa Hardy of Blackstone, Kevin T. Walsh and his girlfriend Brandy Holbrook of Blackstone, Kymberly (Walsh) Shaw and her husband Tyler of Harrisville, Colleen Leach and Kaitlyn Leach both of Framingham. Bernice adored her three great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Brooklyn, and Mikie. She was a beautiful and caring woman who doted on her family. She will be truly missed.
