Obituary

SOUTH HADLEY – Leonard J. LeBlanc, 70, of South Hadley Falls was Called Safely Home on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2014. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on December 6, 1943, a beloved son of the late Armand P. and Stella I. (Rousseau) LeBlanc. He was raised in South Hadley, graduated in 1963 from Dean Vocational Trade High School and lived in South Hadley for most of his life. He was employed as a compositor, camera set up man and sales representative for Magazine Press and the Twin Company both in Holyoke as well as Rivard Graphics and TBJ Graphics, both in Springfield. He was a past president of the Springfield Printing Company as well as the United Commercial Travelers. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was predeceased by his beloved wife and best friend of 40 years, Elizabeth A. (Halliday) LeBlanc who was Called Home on February 18, 2003. He leaves his loving children, Brian K. LeBlanc of Belchertown, Christine M. “Tina” Smith and her husband, Jody, of Springfield, Jennifer A. Guilmain of South Hadley, and Cynthia A. LeBlanc and her partner, David Cassidy, of Springfield; his three cherished grandchildren whom he adored, Eli, Elizabeth and Sophie Smith; his dear son-in-law, Wayne Guilmain of Springfield; his dear brothers, Henry LeBlanc of South Hadley, Louis LeBlanc and his wife, Betty, of Homosassa Springs, FL and Francis LeBlanc and his partner, Nancy Leone, of Chicopee; his dear sister-in-law, Sandra LeBlanc-Casino of Chicopee; his brother-in-law, William Halliday and his wife, Bobbie, of Marshall, TX; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the LeBlanc and Halliday families. Besides his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his dear sisters, Diane LeBlanc who was Called Home in 1961 and Eva D. Conley Daviau who was Called Home on September 15, 2014; and his dear brother, Ronald LeBlanc. His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday morning December 4, 2014 at 11 am at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.). His burial will be private at the convenience of his family. His family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot and main entrance are located in the rear of the funeral home at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
