TAUNTON – Elsie (Semas) Abreau, wife of the late Joseph Abreau, died at her Taunton home on Nov. 28, 2014.
She was 96.
Born in Taunton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Souza) Semas.
She attended Taunton schools including Taunton High School.
Elsie held the position of treasurer for the Abreau Trucking Company for over twenty-five years, retiring in 1980.
A communicant of St. Anthony Church, she taught CCD classes and was past president of the St. Anthony Holy Rosary Sodality.
She was a recipient of the Margaret M. Lahey Memorial Award and the Marian Medal Award; and was a member of the Professional Women’s Club and the Old Colony Historical Society.
Survivors include two daughters, Joyce E. Wallace of Raynham and Cynthia M. Abreau of Taunton; three grandchildren, Jack Wallace, Mary Lynn Nunes and Jennifer Nickiloulias; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Edmund Semas, Mary Semas, Laura Pinto and Dulinda Prosky.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Monday, Dec. 1st at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Anthony Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday, Nov. 30th from 4 to 7 p.m.
